Payroll Specialist

Description Robert Half currently has a open position for a Payroll Clerk in the Downtown Richmond area. In this role, your duties will include supporting the payroll department in a variety of duties, along with data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. Be able to communicate effectively with both the internal team and outside customers. This Payroll Clerk position is ideal for individuals seeking a contract role lasting about three to six months.Your responsibilities in this role

Process payroll for 200 - 225 employees

Complete other duties as assigned

Train and instruct employees in the proper use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

Confirm data entered into spreadsheets and the payroll system is accurate

Requirements

2+ years of previous payroll experience

Payroll software experience preferred

Solid understanding of bi-Weekly Payroll

Demonstrated knowledge of Weekly Payroll

Adeptness in Reconcile Payroll

Payroll for over 500 employees experience preferred

Command of Full Cycle Payroll

Experience with Process Payroll

Deep understanding of Oracle

Detailed and have the ability work independently

Enthusiasm when it comes to learning new systems and ideas

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
