Staff Accountant

In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on Requirements - General ledger experience desired

Proven knowledge of Ledger Journal Entries

General familiarity with Prepare Journal Entries

Strong familiarity with Personal Financial Statements

Prepare Financial Statements experience preferred

Monthly Financial Statements experience

Well-founded grasp of Monthly Journal Entries

Journal entries experience highly desired

Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Current and relevant ERP system experience

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
