NPosition Type ManagementJOB SUMMARYThe Senior Manager, Loyalty Financial Data, Analytics & Reporting will serve as a subject matter expert on Loyalty financial/accounting data flows and data stores. The Sr Manager will connect their understanding of data stores with the associated technical reporting that enable the accurate calculation, recording and reporting of Loyalty Program revenues and expenses and associated financial analysis. In this capacity, the Sr Manager will support the Loyalty Accounting and Reporting organization through Loyalty program and technology changes/transformations to evaluate and manage financial reporting risks and opportunities. The Sr Manager will also leverage core competencies to support overall department and program objectives with respect to the enhancement and optimization of systems/processes and add value. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with blend of accounting expertise and strong data analytics background to leverage data to produce insights and trends on complex and strategic business initiatives.This role will partner with the Finance Business Partners for Customer, Revenue & Technology, Loyalty Technology Product teams, Loyalty Program Operations, and Loyalty Data Strategy in the execution of financial and operational business strategies. The Sr Manager will also support the control environment and associated SOX compliance in partnership with Global Technology related to automated / application controls and information used by the Company (IUC) in internal control / financial reporting activities. The position reports to the Director, Loyalty Financial Data, Analytics & Reporting.EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Support the execution of the financial reporting process, ensuring reports are created timely and accurately in accordance with policies as well as meeting internal and external stakeholder requirements.
Support the execution of and/or create new tools to support the calculation, recording and reporting of Loyalty Program revenues and expenses, ensuring appropriate governance, controls, and compliance with GAAP.
Enable improved financial analytics of varying complexity by bringing together knowledge of data stores, data access / advanced querying capabilities, analytical thought leadership, and financial expertise.
Investigate reporting discrepancies/anomalies and evaluate the impact on financial reporting and analyses. Offer potential solutions to bridge data insights with business needs.
Support the design and implementation of new technology solutions to enable automation of financial reporting processes.
Document current and future state finance business processes, data flows, data lineage and technical reporting logic/calculations to enable and contribute to impact assessments associated with transformations and promote transparency / shared understanding in processes.
Provide support to the Director in partnership with Global Technology to define new data flows and built-in integrity controls to ensure data availability and accuracy. Assist in identifying system business requirements for Loyalty Program accounting and potential interfaces for future Loyalty technology
Understand the design of Loyalty program changes and impact to data models, helping to evaluate and identify financial reporting risks and opportunities.
In collaboration with Loyalty finance team-members, assist in the development of system and reporting requirements for Loyalty Program reporting, accounting, and internal controls.
Partner with Global Technology on data flow designs and integration efforts associated with program and technology platform transformations to ensure continued availability and reliability of data needed for financial and management reporting.
Liaise between finance and Global Technology teams as a translator to ensure appropriate understanding and interpretation in communications and requests.
Assist in training and knowledge sharing among members of Loyalty finance to create awareness around data availability / automation opportunities to address analytical and reporting needs.
Optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the control environment by designing and or identifying automated controls.
Support requirements and requests of internal and external auditors in their evaluation of the control environment.
Partner with business process owners on data matters related to information used by the Company (IUC) in internal control / financial reporting activities.
Partner with Loyalty Accounting & Reporting team, Loyalty FBP team, FRA, iT, FABS and other stakeholders to ensure success in the development and execution of project goals.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
CANDIDATE PROFILEKEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCEExperience
6+ years of financial management and/or data analytics experience in a global organization with increasing management responsibility including accounting, data analysis, process management and financial modeling.
SQL querying and/or data visualization experience preferred.
Familiarity with US GAAP, Marriott accounting policies, and control requirements under the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner; uses data and a cogent problem-solving methodology in decision making and impact assessment.
Able to consistently make decisions in a timely manner sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure. Comfortable challenging organizational norms and accepted thinking to improve effectiveness.

Knowledge of Marriott-specific accounting and finance processes and systems a plus.

Education and Professional Certification
Baccalaureate degree required (Accounting or Finance preferred)
CPA or MBA Candidate / Degree preferred

Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $105,641 to $190,154 annually.Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $209,169 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.
