Main Duties and Responsibilities
Completes timely review and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts and prepares any adjusting entries as needed.
Clears open item transactions in Balance Sheet accounts on a continual basis
Ensure all supporting schedules and documentation for balance sheet accounts are up to date
Support month end closing process including journal entry preparation and transactional postings
Assist accounting team with annual audits
Responsible for accounting function of Canadian affiliate company
Assist with sales tax processes (multiple state filings and customer exemption management)
Coordinates and assists with year-end closing process
Support controlling function for actual to budget analysis and cost accounting (standard cost)
Support operations department for inventory control and analysis
Assist in the ongoing maintenance and analysis of standard costs
Contribute to the analysis of gross margin on products to ensure profitability
Cross train with accounting staff to support accounting team
Support in documentation of department procedures

Educational and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance
Minimum 4+ years working in an accounting department
Working knowledge of SAP strongly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
Experience with manufacturing or distribution business preferred
