Caregiver Part-time private home, quiet, pleasant environment (Lake Oswego)

We are looking for a part-time caregiver to work 12+ hours per week. Additional hours available to back-up other caregivers when they take vacation or need time-off. Shifts currently needing coverage are: Monday OR Thursday 9am – 1:30pm, AND Saturday, 1-9 pm. Please don't apply if you are looking for a placeholder until you find full-time work!

Husband is quadriplegic with multiple sclerosis. (Can only move his head.) Uses a power wheelchair. Everyone will be trained, regardless of experience! We have a motorized lift for transfers anywhere in the bedroom so there is NO HEAVY LIFTING.

1) PHYSICAL CAREGIVING - this is the highest priority

2) COOK DINNER, KITCHEN CLEANUP, ETC

3) LIGHT HOUSEKEEPING.

For your protection, as well as ours, we will need to discuss safety measures regarding COVID 19. We are fully vaccinated and want all caregivers to be fully vaccinated, as well.

Though not required, we prefer someone who has experience caring for someone who needs total help with transfers, feeding, toileting, bathing, dressing, ADL's, etc. Must be in good physical condition to do transfers with an electric lift, range of motion exercises, and body positioning when in bed.

Do you enjoy cooking? Cook a whole food healthy dinner and manage special dietary needs. Prepare dinner, participate in meal planning, maintain grocery list, and kitchen clean-up. Want tasty but straightforward simple recipes including a vegetable, protein, starch and green salad.

Must have reliable transportation, current OR Driver’s License and good driving record (bus service is not available w/in 2 miles of our home!) Pass a state criminal check, as required by the state. Also requires legal immigrant status. References will be checked. We desire someone who is reliable, flexible, organized and calm, with a good sense of humor. We can only hire people who provide valid ID and submit to a criminal check with the State.

This is a pleasant, positive, and appreciative work environment. Team of caregivers are supportive and collaborative with each other. Husband is kind, and grateful for the care he receives. We welcome diversity and someone who is open-minded. Some of our caregivers have stayed with us for years. Flexibility to do occasional overnights, or, vacation travel with us is a plus, but definitely not a requirement.
