Some accounting experience preferred.Scope of Position:Processes invoices and enters payables and receivables in support of Salvation Army accounting system, maintains files and records, tracks grant funded income and expenses and provides financial reports and income expense reports when requested by supervisor.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
Microsoft PowerPoint, helpful.
Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training. Must be courteous and respectful to teammates and donors.
Must be congenial and able to work with difficult individuals.
Licenses and Certifications required: Driver License – PreferredEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must understand basic principles of accounting.
Must have ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately including to add and subtract, multiply, and divide, and calculate percentages, fractions, and decimals.
Must have experience working with excel (1 year)
Process daily Accounts Payable.
Code and batch invoices and statements for input into computer.
Post all batches daily.
File all material upon completion (daily).
Prepare bank deposits. Post and file printouts and back up.
File all material upon completion (daily).
Monitor and track grant income and expense.
Provide financial status reports as requested.
Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job. (On-Site position)
Assist DHQ accounting staff with preparation for audits.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
Grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinets drawers, and reach overhead.
Operate telephone.
Operate a desktop or laptop computer.
Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to drive a motor vehicle.
Working Conditions:
Work in all types of weather conditions.
Work in standard office environment sitting and working with computers daily.
Works on many projects at once in a semi-open office environment with interruptions and noises from voices, telephones, printers.
