CSO Northern and Eastern EuropeSummaryThe CSO remit is to make the company mission a reality. To help raise the bar in how we protect global businesses digital ilves.The EMEA regional CSOs report to Greg Day. Their role is to cultivate key executive customer and partnership relationships. Through high profile speaking events, industry groups, and write thought leadership essays pertinent to the region they should be raising the profile of the company. With the goal to influence and advise leading global companies in evolving their cyber security capabilities. As an innovator in cyber security its key they are able to scale their knowledge by creating repeatable documented security transformation processes during these to allow others to replicate.DetailTheir role is to demonstrate thought leadership and be a trusted advisor to both existing and potential new customers and partners. With growing trust the CSO should be defining a journey for these customers to better understating their own state in comparison with others, and help define a strategy for each customer to evolve, leveraging company resources such as the CBC/EBC, Exec Advisory Program, Business Value Services & Customer Success teams. Likewise each region CSO should identify and be actively engaged in key industry or governmental groups that allow them to influence what cyber security standards, regulations and processes will be in the future, as well as leveraging such communities to build their network.They will be aligned to key strategic accounts at a global and regional level, for which they will act as the strategic consultant, helping to define and strategically project manage how these accounts can evolve their cybersecurity capabilities, leveraging the resources and skills both in the insight and broader business. The outcomes will be documented to demonstrate a repeatable process that both other CSOs and the broader business can leverage.Key Responsibilities:- Speak for Palo Alto Networks at the highest echelons of industry thought leadership and business interaction, for example marquee conferences and Palo Networks sponsored events
- Create thought leadership content
- Visit Fortune 2000 customers as part of the Palo Alto Networks executive sponsor program
- Collect C-Level executives that consider you to be their trusted advisor, a person who can help guide them on whatever problems they are dealing with. A person that the customer will always take a call from.
- Coordinate with the regional sales team to target the right relationships to cultivate.
- Determine the right speaking engagements for the region and work with the Field Event’s Team to capture keynote slots.
- Be actively engaged in the appropriate regional influence groups be they standards, government or industry driven.
- Be the executive sponsor/trusted advisory for 15-20 key accounts in the region. For these accounts drive insight programs to create repeatable cyber security transformation programs. The regional CSO should act both as the project manager and executive strategic consultant.
Qualifications
Desired Skills and Experience- Experienced CIO, CTO, CISO, CSO. Former senior government or military official is a plus.
- Well known in the region as a cyber security expert.
- Technical enough to understand various technologies and have credibility with customers.
- Has credibility in front of large audiences as well as one-on-one meetings.
- Has a vision for the cybersecurity future and can help us think through and develop the roadmap.
- Past experience as a CIO, CTO, CISO, CSO or equivalent government position
- Possesses the ability to bridge the gap between deep technical content and information that a C-Level executive can digest and use to make quality decisions
- Demonstrates credibility in front of large and small audiences as well as one-on-one meetings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Must be an innovative thinker, with strong problem-solving skills
- Bachelor degree in Business, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or related field; master’s preferred
- Minimum of eight to 10 years of experience in a combination of risk management, information security and IT jobs – at least four must be in a senior leadership role
- Employment history must demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility
- Demonstrated industry expertise through contributions to security industry groups, speaking at industry events, and / or writing blogs and whitepapers on advanced cyber security techniques and tools
- Well known in the region as a cybersecurity expert
