Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) have many duties, including:

Personal care: Helping clients with activities like bathing, dressing, grooming, and using the bathroom

Housekeeping: Performing tasks like laundry, washing dishes, and vacuuming

Transportation: Arranging transportation for clients to doctors' offices or other outings

Scheduling: Helping clients organize their schedules and plan appointments

Monitoring: Monitoring clients' health status and vital signs

Reporting: Reporting changes in a client's condition to a supervisor or case coordinator

Documenting: Documenting services provided to clients

Promoting healthy habits: Encouraging clients to adopt healthy lifestyle habits

Providing companionship: Offering general companionship and advice to clients

Solving problems: Solving routine problems for clients

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) perform a variety of tasks to provide basic care and support to patient

:

Daily activities: Assist patients with bathing, dressing, eating, and using the bathroom

Medication Reminders: Remind patients with taking medications and ensure they are taking the correct dosages

Mobility: Help patients get in and out of bed, transfer them between wheelchairs and beds, and turn or adjust them in bed

Cleanliness: Clean and sanitize patient areas, including changing bed sheets

Monitoring: Monitor patients' food, water, and medication intake, as well as their behavior and health

Reporting: Report any changes in vital signs, behavior, or health to nursing and medical staff

Emergency care: Perform immediate and temporary interventions in emergency situations

Admission, transfer, and discharge: Assist with admission, transfer, or discharge activities

Room preparation: Prepare patients' rooms with necessary items, such as blankets, pillows, medical equipment, and toiletries
