Resident Engineer

TOP Leading Global Design Firm is seeking a Resident Engineer, to join their team in NYC! This is an excellent opportunity for growth, to work for a company that has an ongoing pipeline of consistent projects for the next several years! Job Description:

The Resident Engineer will be working on a NYC Parks Program called "Street Tree Planting" Or "Trees and Sidewalks"

Email from PM where to go

Meet Superintendent at job site by 7 am

Observe contractors on site

Coordinate with PM to make sure enough people are there

Ensure safety

Work with Parks Department and contractors

Use spec book and understand contents

Ensure safety on site such as contractors wearing PPE

Record and track measurements for pay items (contractor gets paid based on amount of trees planted and excavation)

WILL NOT BE CLIMBING/ON ACTIVE ROADWAYS

NO PRUNING OF TREES

All activity will be done on land level

Traveling between 20-40 sites in a day (about 5-10 miles usually total) Mileage is reimbursed

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, landscape architecture, construction management, ecology, environmental engineering

1+ year experience working on a construction site (including internships)

Any experience working on green infrastructure, landscaping, tree inspection, parks, root inspection, or understanding of soils

Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

Vehicle to get to work

Ability to work independently with little supervision
