Tax Associate (Seasonal, Onsite) — Harlem, NYC | Feb 1– Apr 15 2026

We’re a Harlem-based Enrolled Agent practice seeking a Seasonal Tax

Associate with bookkeeping knowledge to support our 2026 filing season.

This is an onsite, part-time/seasonal role with potential evening/weekend

hours during peak weeks. This is not a remote position. Only Manhattan

residents need apply.

Must-have qualifications:

EA or AFSP credential

Active PTIN

2+ seasons of individual tax prep using Drake software

Adobe Acrobat DC - we are a paperless office that relies exclusively

on scanning and organizing large files.

Excel 365/2024including pivot tablesVERY IMPORTANT!

Monroe Ultimate Adding Machine

Strong written communication skills (ability to interpret and

respond to tax authority correspondence).

What you’ll do:

Prepare and review individual returns (Forms 1040/NY/NYC):

Complex Schedule C (>$100k gross receipts)

Schedule E for rental properties (depreciation, passive activity

rules)

High-volume 1099-B reconciliations (basis, wash sales)

Multi-state individual filings (nonresident/part-year)

Review returns for technical accuracy and completeness

Analyze IRS transcripts and client source documents to resolve

discrepancies

Communicate with clients to professionally explain positions, request

missing data, and set expectations.

Assist with Federal and State audits
