This Pre-doctoral Research Fellowship is a full-time, post baccalaureate program designed to prepare individuals wishing to apply for a PhD in Economics, Business Economics, or Management. The pre-doctoral research fellow will work closely with Prof. Daniela Scur and her co-authors in the area of economics and management. The role will primarily entail supporting research and data analysis pertaining to her various on-going research projects (a summary of which are available on her academic website), especially those related to the World Management Survey (www.worldmanagementsurvey.org).The Pre-doctoral fellow will also have access to a broader economics and management community at the university, including weekly seminars, brown-bag lunches, as well as the expected new cohort of predoctoral research fellows in the School's research centers. Past pre-docs under her team's supervision have been accepted into major economics/applied economics masters and PhD programs (including Chicago, USC, Cornell Dyson, Pittsburgh, UCL, LSE, Oxford and ETH Zurich).General duties include, but are not limited to:Participation in empirical research projects guided closely by Prof Scur and her co-authors.Engagement in the intellectual life at Cornell.Collecting and verifying primary data via survey methods.Conducting literature reviews of particular topics and drafting non-technical policy briefs.This is a 1-year term staff position with the possibility of renewal based upon performance and the availability of funding.
