IT Specialist

DescriptionLinQuest is seeking a IT Specialist to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. Must have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance are required for the position.Position Summary:The Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC) is a military organization on Kirkland AFB located in Albuquerque, NM.The Information Systems Specialist – Junior will be part of an information systems team responsible for planning, installing, monitoring, and maintaining JNWC networks and equipment. The JNWC has a variety of classified and unclassified networks and a significant quantity of IT equipment dedicated to various purposes.Key Responsibilities:The IT team supports staff in several facilities and occasional travel may be required to support JNWC staff in the field. Responsibilities include:

Install information technology (IT) systems for JNWC staff and respond to IT issues reported to the Help Desk

Document IT serial numbers and locations in the ADPE inventory to ensure proper accounting for Government IT equipment

Install and configure software on IT systems; update images consistent with new releases

Respond to anomalous behaviors reported by Help Desk ticket

Maintain information systems employing networks to deploy upgrades and patches

Comply with IT security program and procedures to protect information and resources in accordance with DoD IT security regulations and directives

Implement firewalls, antivirus software, networking monitoring applications, and active intrusion detection systems

Establish proficiency with Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) and Special Access Required (SAR) information systems, network operations, system management and user interfaces in a team environment

This position will challenge the knowledge and skills of any candidate but allow accelerated professional growth and experience for the right team member. Candidate requires a security clearance to start. LinQuest will assist the right candidate acquire a security clearance.

Required Skills and Experience :

Possess or be able to acquire Security+ certification in a timely manner based on previous experience.

Ability to install or move information technology systems to support new or existing staff requirements.

Ability to install system images consistent with the 377th Air Base Wing and JNWC software standards.

Ability to quickly determine root cause and perform corrective action in response to system failures or issues.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience in Government IT Team environment

Active clearance, ability to get and maintain TS SCI

3-5 years’ experience in IT-related field; Help Desk preferred

Education can offset experience requirement

US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance are required for the position

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Ability to establish IT security program and procedures in accordance with DoD IT security regulations and directives.

Bachelors in information technology or equivalent field

Military Information Technology or related experience

Experience with classified IT systems
