We are seeking a Application Support Specialist for a contract to hire role with our client in Wayne, NJ (07470). Compensation target is $45-50/HR.
Foundational certification in network or operating system is preferred. The Application Support Specialist is responsible for all onsite & remote service and application support requirements for the business units. This relates to the installation, upgrading, patching, releases, and daily administrative support for the applications and services used for the production, management, disaster recovery (DR), business continuity planning (BCP) and delivery of the approved business applications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Providing 2nd and 3rd level application tier support. Responsible for troubleshooting more complex issues as passed by the PC Support Center (Tier 1) as it relates to applications and its usage.
- To ensure that the applications are maintained in a manner that supports delivery of services to the platforms, resilience, and uptime performance statistics.
- Perform quality assurance testing of new application software releases and patches in the application test environment prior to its production release.
- Providing capacity planning, monitoring, and maintenance of designated application system(s), while identifying trends or problems on monthly summary report.
- Ensuring continuity and service quality by owning the resolution of application issues across the platforms. Tracking progress and escalating as appropriate up to the resolution.
- Maintaining application system documentation to include system reviews, support, changes, audits, and future application improvement recommendations.
- Must possess good time management, multitasking, and stress management skills to be able to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner consistently.
- Good teamwork and leadership skills are essential in order to motivate different groups of people to fulfill their responsibilities within a given time frame.
- Must demonstrate a proven track record of exceptional written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical personnel, including the ability to articulate technical concepts to Bank management.
- Must have a working knowledge of commonly used Microsoft Office software tools.
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalency from a two-year College or technical school and a minimum of 5 years related technical application support experience including hardware and software.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and banking background within the IT services department and/or Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, HP Networking (AIS, ASE, MASE) and System Storage, Cisco CCNA, or VMWare VCP preferred.
