Manager, eDiscoveryL3-1 GradeInternal and External PostingPosition SummaryThe Manager, eDiscovery for US Litigation & Investigations will be responsible for leading eDiscovery efforts for all litigation and investigation matters involving US-based Sanofi entities in a variety of practice areas, working independently, as well as with outside counsel and colleagues in the US Litigation & Investigations group. The position requires understanding of and experience with the identification, collection, and analysis of electronic data, with the goal of preserving evidence in its original form while performing a structured investigation that is legally defensible. The person filling this position ideally has knowledge of and experience with eDiscovery issues from an in-house perspective, must be an effective communicator, and have the ability to work with colleagues in Legal and diverse functional and operational areas throughout the company (such as HR, Finance, Pharm Ops., Business Development, IA, IS, etc.). The person filling this position ideally has advanced and demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to analyze complex situations, develop and communicate plans of action and carry them out. The person filling this position also must understand the rules and policy of evidence collection, evidence handling and chain of custody, and be proficient in the collection of data from various sources. Bachelor’s Degree or Experience Equivalent paralegal or legal administrative certification
Minimum 5 years eDiscovery or Legal Project management experience required
In-house eDiscovery or collections experience, preferred
Advanced and demonstrated project management skills, including demonstrated analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
Proven experience in managing multiple requests for support in a timely manner
Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations, such as GDPR or HIPAA, and their implications for eDiscovery.
Microsoft Excel intermediate experience required
Broad knowledge of eDiscovery technology and the EDRM model, preferred
Excellent communication skills
Able to function in a team environment, being flexible and responsive to changing priorities, and having an appropriate sense of urgency in completing tasks and projects
Ability to plan, schedule and monitor work, within set targets
Ability to use search tools for information mining and analysis, or structure searches for specific details while realizing the full scope of the legal matter
Understanding rules and policy of evidence collection, evidence handling, and chain of custody
Thorough understanding of metadata and data types, particularly their importance as related to eDiscovery
Proficient in the collection of data from various sources including Windows, Mac, Exchange/O365/Outlook, SharePoint, file shares, e-mail archives, structured data systems, and mobile devices. Experience with Microsoft Purview, preferred.
Experience with eDiscovery review platforms such as Relativity, preferred.
Understanding of and experience with the identification, collection, and analysis of electronic data, with the goal of preserving evidence in its original form while performing a structured investigation that is legally defensible
Knowledge of the legal hold process, including a general knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the preservation of evidence to prevent spoliation
SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS:
Using in-house eDiscovery technology for the collection and processing of electronically stored data
Create, administrate, and manage Legal hold distribution via electronic applications (Legal Hold Pro)
Manage evidence collection and handling of documenting chain of custody via Sanofi systems and with external parties (law firms, service providers, etc.)
Coordinate and manage document collection requests from internal Sanofi and external outside counsel relating to litigation and investigations
Coordinate and hosting internal custodial interviews for data collection and preservation of data
Manage and coordinate document transfers for eDiscovery matters with 3rd party service providers
Review invoices and reports for 3rd party service providers to ensure accuracy and compliance with established guidelines
Maintain and update litigation tracking system and provide timely reports for litigation activities and on an ad hoc basis
Coordinate and liaise with Sanofi Legal Department on various information management and litigation related projects
Coordinate with internal terms to ensure established project deadlines are met
