At CoBank, our Lead Relationship Manager, Farm Credit Banking provides leadership, coordination and communication internally and externally regarding issues and opportunities concerning CoBank’s Farm Credit Banking Group (FCBG), and the advancement of the Farm Credit Cooperation Philosophy. Manages affiliated Farm Credit System (FCS) partner relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence portfolio growth and profitability. Maximizes credit and financial services provided to the Associations and their customers to enhance the bank’s profitability goals. Develops and leverages FCS relationships, and interfaces with internal and external stakeholders at executive management levels in support of team strategies and initiatives.Essential Duties

Responsible for servicing and monitoring direct notes for affiliated and non-affiliated associations, as well as other wholesale-related credit facilities.

Represents customer stakeholder perspectives regarding the evolution of product and pricing strategies for the FCB for wholesale and purchased participations.

Coordinates key changes in the General Financing Agreement in response to regulatory, market, or strategy evolution.

Leads the marketing of CoBank’s products and services to FCS partners (e.g. leasing, cash management, derivatives, purchased participations, pool products, etc.). Implements plans to capitalize on marketing opportunities.

Acts as a contact point for the Farm Credit Administration (FCA) regarding affiliated association-related activities, including the Integrated District Review (IDR) and Asset Reporting. Serves as an internal contact for CoBank Asset Review and Internal Audit.

Coordinates CoBank activities related to special regulatory oversight events and situations requiring CoBank involvement and support, such as FCA supervisory activities and merger/alliance approvals.

Represents customer stakeholder perspectives related to the Farm Credit Bank (FCB) Patronage and Capital Plan for Wholesale Volume and Purchased Participations.

Monitors and coordinates relationships with service corporations and other entities, such as AgVantis, FPI, FCS Captive Insurance Company and Federal Agriculture Mortgage Corporation (FMAC).

Effectively communicates so that customer satisfaction is maintained at high levels and the group/division business objectives are attained.

Ensures the effective day-to-day operations of the division.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a relevant discipline.

Twelve (12) or more years of financial services experience, preferably in the agriculture industry; or an appropriate combination of education and experience.

Five (5) or more years of pertinent Farm Credit System experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

Management experience preferred.

Extensive financial services, credit and financing experience, knowledge and expertise.

Excellent business development, organizational, negotiation, presentation, marketing, and sales skills.

Strong business acumen, management and solutions based problem solving and decision-making skills, with proven credibility in influencing and working effectively with business management, senior officers and executives.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage projects and deliver on commitments within tight timeframes and competing priorities.

Excellent leadership, and organizational development skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate in a team-oriented and collaborative work environment, and promote, foster and build a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of associates, management, and internal customers across the bank, as well as external vendors and other stakeholders.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to deliver commitments while juggling multiple projects and priorities. Ability to work effectively under deadline pressures, and adjust quickly and effectively to changing priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences. Excellent active listening skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).

Compensation Information

Estimated Base Salary Range: $150,000-$225,000

Target short-term incentive opportunity:35%
