Job DescriptionThe Java Platform Group is looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated Developer Advocate and Content Creator for the education sector. Our team is responsible for delivering the Java platform that is used by millions of developers. Meld your technical Java prowess and stellar communication and active listening skills to reach the hearts & minds of K-University and alternative study students and teachers. Inspire and educate them about modern Java to create new Java fans, foster peer support, and foster widespread adoption. Help this community of developers succeed in their education and in finding a lucrative career in their futures.As a developer advocate in a small and nimble team, you will be the lead developer advocate and content creator for the education sector. You will take an active role in creating and executing on our developer advocacy strategy for this segment. Develop, influence, and support community for students and teachers
Write tutorials, lighthouse curriculum, proofs of concept, school labs, samples, and workshops
Create video walk-throughs and podcast series
Submit for and speak at Education and related conferences
Establish media publishing strategy and write blogs
Manage social media channels for educators and students
Gather feedback from the community to lead change that supports the education sector
Lead innovation that supports to CS education success and a bright future for kids with java

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
