About You

Join our Threat Detection organization and manage the Engineering and Analytics team. This team builds custom threat detection capabilities with a goal of automating analytics, response, and prevention. You will work across teams within Target to coordinate new Cyber Security and Fraud integrations and controls. You will be accountable for delivery of the team. In this role, you will lead skilled engineers and analysts to reliably solve complex problems and leverage industry leading tools and technologies. Much of what we do can have impact to our guests and we need a leader with experience working on high impact, high priority applications. Experience with and an understanding of Python, PySpark or Spark, Java or Kotlin, kafka, and API development is preferred, as we heavily leverage these technologies. Experience managing an on-call rotation and run books is also important, as we have full stack ownership of our products.

Responsibilities:

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience in a related field

• 7+ years of engineering (software development) experience

• Experience applying Agile software development practices

• Minimum 2-3 years experience leading, coaching, and mentoring development teams

• Experience working on high impact, high priority applications.

• Demonstrated understanding of Python, Spark, Java / Kotlin, kafka, and API development

• Experience managing an on-call rotation and run books

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to variety of audiences

• Team-orientated, passionate about developing others' skills and capabilities

Additional Skills and Experience:

• Lead the team to drive initiatives from idea formulation, to design, and implementation by following the best practices. e.g. testing, observability, etc.

• Set the technical vision & direction for the team and lead the team to achieve it.

• Drive great partnership with the product owner, engineering, and analytics teams.

• Participate in essential technical, design, and product discussions with teams across the organization.

• Manage cross-product technical dependencies and drive resolutions to conflicts.

• Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes.

• Grow and build a strong, healthy, and diverse team through hiring, mentoring, and coaching.

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $118,200 to $212,800 annually.
