Associate Attorney

South Shore business and defense litigation law firm handling complex multi-party cases seeks a full-time attorney preferably with a minimum of two to three years’ experience; however, we will consider new attorneys who are willing to work hard and absorb a lot from a senior attorney.

Strong writing skills are critical. Background in civil litigation including motion practice, familiarity with the rules of civil procedure, review of extensive documents and other written data for purposes of developing case strategy, determining settlement valuation, and communicating with clients for counseling purposes. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet litigation deadlines.

Prime responsibilities include writing agreements, pleadings, asset and purchase agreements, contracts, complaints, discovery, briefs, and other court documents. Other duties are as follows:

Working closely with team members to prepare necessary documents at each stage of a case.

Researching legal concepts, case law, judicial opinions, statutes, and regulations.

Providing proper legal citation and statutory interpretation.

Maintaining accurate case files, notes, and reports.

Negotiating cases to meet the needs of the firm and the client.

Following up with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts, as required.
