job detailsRandstad is currently working with a leading manufacturer of precision magnetic steel laminations for the motor, generator, auto, and transformer industries. They are hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for their facility in Chicago, IL. Qualifications:

High School Diploma or G.E.D

2+ years Mechanical Maintenance experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment.

480V Electrical Systems experience.

Troubleshooting and repair experience on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment.

Ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance on mechanical presses, press line related equipment, conveyor systems, overhead cranes, and various production machines.

Following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Troubleshooting malfunctions on equipment.

Performing preventative tasks associated on heavy industrial manufacturing equipment.

Performing Root Cause Analysis of issues and monitoring mechanical devices in operation.

Removing defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.

Determining changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

The essential functions of this role include:

manual lifting up to 25lbs

standing for 8 hours at one time

working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week

480V Electrical Systems (3 years of experience is preferred)

Pneumatic (2 years of experience is preferred)
