2024-2025 Yearlong Training and Workforce Development Digital Media Intern - ( 2400001H )DescriptionChicago Transit Authority is the second largest transit system in the country! Our college internship program offers summer and year-long internships that provide students with valuable work experience, professional development, and mentorship. Students receive exposure to the discipline of the workplace and are guided by subject matter experts who assist them in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to perform in today’s technically demanding careers. Interns at CTA work in a range of departments across the authority.Our internships are project-based; therefore, the skills that we seek vary based on the needs of the projects during each term. All majors are welcome to apply, but please see education experience/requirements for specifics about what disciplines each internship project is seeking.Internships are part-time (15 hours a week) during the school year and full-time (40 hours a week) during the summer.In this role within the Training & Workforce Development department’s Learning and Support - Career and Leadership Development Programs (CLDP) unit, interns will:
Create and edit marketing and instructional videos (including conceptualizing video content, capturing footage, and editing).
Design digital marketing materials such as brochures, banners, and infographics for the promotion of various programs (including conceptualizing designs, creating drafts, and finalizing digital artwork in alignment with CTA branding guidelines).
Redesign the unit's SharePoint page by assessing current layout and functionality, proposing a user-friendly redesign, and implementing the redesign; and maintain the updated page with current program information and resources.
Track program and workshop participation data and survey audiences to gauge the effectiveness of materials, then provide recommendations for enhancing impact.
Primary work location for this role: CTA Headquarters (567 W. Lake Street, Chicago Illinois 60661)QualificationsEducational Experience/Requirements:
Preferred Major(s): Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing & Communications, Web Design/Development
Preferred Level of Education: College sophomore and above
Required enrollment status: Full-time (as defined by your academic institution) in a degree program at an accredited college or university
Physical Requirements:
The demands associated with the normal office environment
Must be able to comply with office policy to work on-site twice per week
Light physical activity, including walking outdoors and climbing stairs
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, particularly during meetings or while working at a desk
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Good analytical and critical thinking skills
Good organizational skills with attention to detail
Good project management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to work independently
Ability to maintain amiable relations with various levels of internal and external stakeholders and decision-makers
Foundational knowledge of digital media principles, and keen interest in leveraging digital platforms for educational and promotional purposes
Skills in photo and video production or editing (expertise in Adobe Creative Suite such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro are a plus), animation and screen-casing capabilities (Moovly, Vyond, Camtasia or similar tools), and web design and maintaining Microsoft SharePoint sites
