Position: Senior Project Manager/Business Analyst

Location: Chicago IL

Duration: 6-month contract to hire

Must Haves / Notes from Manger:
  • Main responsibility: Requirements gathering, timeline, testing process, roll out plan/soft launches
  • There is more demand now with projects being done and the current BA is getting stretched thin, too many projects not enough people
  • Main items
  • Own the project from inception to completion
  • Huge emphasis on relationship with Business stakeholder, become the SME within that area
  • Ideally wants someone with mortgage background, MBA or finance background
  • Tenacity as a characteristic; a lot of distractions and they need to keep everyone on track with being forceful in an appropriate way
  • 130 projects planned for 2021
  • 1+ years’ experience in business and system analysis, process design and system development
  • 1+ years’ experience in financial services or mortgage banking
  • Ability to conduct business process analysis, gap analysis, process optimization and process risk assessment
  • Ability to identify opportunities to automate any processes for efficiencies
  • Excellent analytical, problem identification, structuring, and solving skills with the ability to design solutions
  • Experience with process improvement methods (Lean-Six Sigma, Kaizen)

Day to DayPromote idea generation and collaborate to identify new opportunities. Create programs to encourage innovation across the organization to align with organization strategy. Foster an organizational culture to drive collaboration and embrace risk.Partner with business units to determine key issues and challenges needing to be improved and to determine effective solutions. Solutions may include a combination of process improvement, technology, organizational change and policy development.Understand as-is processes and design to-be processes to automate and improve the business. Gather functional requirements for the to-be process, design testing conditions and lead the testing effort, and plan implementation and training support.Conduct interviews and perform analysis to create business cases for initiatives. Review requirements, specifications, test plan support and training plans to ensure they are in line with business objectives.Drive prioritization decisions for scarce resources and develop build-versus-buy recommendations.
  • Identify technology products available to meet business needs and evaluate product functionality and integration.
  • Evaluate integration feasibility considering the existing environment.
  • Evaluate speed to market, cost, and sustainability for software products.
  • Develop acquisition or build strategy for cost, delivery timeline, integration, and ongoing support.
  • Support the implementation and integration of new solutions whether build or buy.
Promote the use of performance metrics and analytical reporting. Work with the business to design measurable metrics to track the implementation of business improvements.Assist the business partners to own the business outcomes, including analyses, recommendations and influencing and collaborating on execution.
