Billing Clerk

Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced billing clerk with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in law firm billing. Ideal candidate is accurate, detail-oriented, able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Position requires in-office presence. If interested in this role please call Melissa Tree at 808-452-0254.Your responsibilities in this roleReview, evaluate, and process bills or invoices for services rendered

Evaluate billing documents and other data for accuracy and completeness, obtaining missing or correct data when necessary

Build financial controls and procedures

Work closely with other functional teams to ensure data quality and consistency

Billable time and disbursement fees/expenses are logged throughout the case

At the end of each month (or at the end of the case, if it’s a shorter case), bills and expenses for each client and case are put into a draft bill

Attorneys add notes and adjust costs as needed and approve the bill

A final version of the bill is created and sent to clients for payment

Clients pay via whatever payment methods are accepted at the firm

Accounting team sends follow-up reminders regarding late payments

Requirements

What we’re looking forBachelor’s degree in related field

2-3 years experience as a billing clerk or similar role

Experience in working in the legal industry

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Outlook and internet applications

Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
