Job Summary:

Fe Medical Center is seeking a motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support our healthcare providers and ensure the smooth operation of our multi-specialty clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in a clinical setting and grow within the healthcare field.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.

Prepare and maintain examination rooms, including sanitizing and restocking supplies.

Take and record vital signs, patient history, and other relevant information.

Administer basic patient care, such as dressing changes, removing sutures, and providing wound care under supervision.

Perform routine laboratory tests and prepare specimens for lab processing.

Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and coordinating with other departments.

Educate patients on healthcare procedures and practices, including medication instructions and follow-up care.

Assist with patient check-ins and check-outs, including verifying insurance and processing payments.

Handle telephone calls, emails, and other communications related to patient care.

Support office staff with clerical duties as needed.

Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent experience.

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred but not required.

Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Proficiency in basic computer skills, including electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Salary $15 hr to $18 hr
