Global Corporate Services, Product Manager, AVP

Job Description:

Blackstone's Global Corporate Services team provides best-in-class operations and execution capabilities to Blackstone, providing key support functions such as managing office space and construction projects; research and market data; events and dining services; meeting management; and travel services on a global scale.

Within BXTI, we work closely with Global Corporate Services to focus on excellent customer service and creating operational efficiencies through process improvements and system implementations

Our team is responsible for the design, implementation and operational support of the technology backbone that supports Blackstone's Global Corporate Services' applications and platforms.

Serving internal and external clients, we work with cutting-edge yet easy to use platforms to create efficiencies and transparency into Blackstone and our broader community of investors, portfolio companies, etc.

As a member of the BXTI Global Corporate Services team at Blackstone, you will work with a group of talented individuals in a highly team-oriented environment to create the next generation of innovative solutions for Blackstone and the financial community at large.

As a Product Manager, you will work closely with all stakeholders during the conceptual, design, development, production, and training stages of each project. The Product Manager serves as the "glue" between business owners, clients, quality assurance, and the engineers that build or configure the designs, so you need to be able to discuss, manage, and document your work and facilitate decisions effectively to varied audiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive strategic decisions for major initiatives.
  • Collaborating cross-team to build and maintain detailed user personas as a foundation to future technology rollouts.
  • Effectively communicating research findings, conceptual ideas, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
  • Design and specification of technical requirements for high visibility, firmwide technology initiatives using participatory and iterative design techniques including user interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery.
  • Presenting solutions to a technology review board to inform and gain approval from key stakeholders in security, infrastructure, platform engineering, etc. teams.
  • Projects include collaborative software, vendor analysis and third-party solution implementation, software integrations, video/voice conferencing initiatives, mobility strategy.
  • Iterating on designs based on user feedback and technology constraints.
  • Discussing, presenting, and documenting designs and design decisions effectively to varied audiences.
  • Leading the product rollout process by driving decisions, tracking issues, and assisting in time estimation.
  • Bridging cross-functional teams (client working groups, business owners, engineering, QA, etc.) to drive the entire project lifecycle from concept to completion.
  • Establishing team and product level roadmaps to help team define scope, deliverables, schedule, and workstreams.
  • Developing rollout and training plans in partnership with our Training team to create user adoption of new or existing tools to ensure that the business value from those projects is fully realized.
  • Broad stakeholder management including but not limited to project intake, development of ROIs, prioritization, communicating project status updates to relevant stakeholders across BXTI and the business, managing stakeholder expectations, and building product roadmaps that are visible and transparent to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. You will need:
  • Proven outstanding communication (written and verbal), presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • The abilities to work collaboratively with multiple groups in a variety of settings and listen, articulate positions, and advocate designs.
  • Impeccable project management and implementation skills and the ability to drive process changes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • 5+ years equivalent experience managing technology projects.
  • Demonstrated significant leadership experience as a team lead or similar role in a technology organization; 2+ years of lead experience is preferred.
  • Ability to outline and quantify user requirements, project costs, and end value to make metric-driven decisions.
  • A successful track record of juggling multiple projects on tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Proven experience with product ownership and application knowledge throughout the complete software development life cycle.
  • Proven experience launching and governing projects and programs to ensure the completion of technology projects.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies and moving from on-prem to cloud solutions is preferred.
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders and leading project prioritization to drive product vision and roadmap.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully rollout products and drive user adoption.
  • Experience with Agile Project Management methodologies is required.
  • A self-starting, entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to work through all obstacles to accomplish tasks.
  • A desire to learn and grow as a professional.
  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • A degree in one of the following disciplines: Technology and/or Engineering is preferred.
