The Designer will own and execute on all aspects of product concepts, design and execution as led by the Design Manager. Working closely with the whole design team, the Designer will partner on a continuous basis to successfully create premium product that supports the Canada Goose brand. The Designer will work cross-departmentally to conceptualize and deliver on industry leading designs that propel the Canada Goose brand and product strategy. The Designer will have the ability to engage the existing core audience while seeking new ways to build and evolve the premium global brand. The Designer will be onsite in our Toronto Office. What You'll Do:Work with the Design Team and cross-functional partners to observe and own seasonal and project calendarsManage and execute special projects with the support of the Design Manager & Design TeamStrong experience across a wide range of product categories with an emphasis on luxury & functional productResearch, conceptualize, and design styles from concept to proto approval, managing up to the Design ManagerWork closely with Merchandising partners to ensure all designs support business objectivesMentor and develop Assistant Designer/Intern levelCreate technical packs and update as required for all styles determinedWork closely with PDE partners to communicate designs, BOMs and updates/changes throughout the proto processRepresent Design voice in fittings on designated styles, ensuring fit consistencySupport the Design Director to work with the Materials department to develop and adopt fabrics and trimsGlobal travel for research / concept and product developmentAll other duties as assignedLet's Talk About You:BA hons Degree or above in Fashion Design5+ years of applicable working Design experienceComputer Skills; included proficiency in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign is essentialDemonstrated ability to take initiative to achieve departmental and corporate objectivesAdvanced level knowledge of outerwear, apparel, and accessories product constructionAdvanced knowledge of materials (fabrics and trims)Thorough experience working with a wide range of vendor partners across multiple categories and manufacturing geographiesExcellent presentation skills of both design and final presentationHighly Proficient in technical sketching (CAD)Prior experience with Product Line Management (PLM) requiredDemonstrates strong leadership and management skillsAnticipates market needs and how to prepare for themHas a critical eye on the market, runway and current trendsDemonstrates creative ability that exceeds market expectationsWhat's in it For You: A company built on Canadian roots and heritageA comprehensive Total Rewards Program more than paid wages including bonuses and flexible benefits and competitive compensationOpportunities for career growth through numerous internal and external programsRecognize and be recognized by your peers with our Goose Rewards & ICON RewardsBe a part of CG Gives.
