Description The innovative team at Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to help further their efforts in the Investment Banking industry on a permanent basis. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll Requirements - 1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Proficiency in account reconciliation
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Efficient in ERP systems
High attention to detail
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
