Description Robert Half is searching for a Staff Accountant. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. You will also participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. A very involved position, the Staff Accountant spends a good deal of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The Denver, Colorado based company offering this multi-faceted, challenging long-term contract / temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment where innovation is encouraged and effort is rewarded.Major responsibilitiesParticipate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience preferred
Microsoft Excel experience highly desired
Adeptness in SAP
Deep understanding of Audit Activities
Process Improvement Projects experience preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of journal entries
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
