HVAC TechnicianJob Type: Skilled Trades & CraftPay Range $35.66Location Colorado Springs, CODate First Posted 4/8/24Applications are being accepted until: 4/14/24If no date is displayed, applications are being accepted on an ongoing basis; however, this job posting may close at any time after a minimum of 5 days of being posted.HVAC TechnicianThe starting pay rate for this job is $35.66 followed by an increase to $37.44 after the introductory period (six months).Our Facilities Maintenance team is hiring an HVAC Technician to serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, performing preventative and corrective maintenance across our many facilities in Colorado Springs. You will have the opportunity to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, circulation pumps, hydronic systems, unitary package heat and cooling systems, exhaust ventilation systems, and air distribution systems.Please note that this job offers a rotating four-day work week schedule (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM). You will also be required to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotating schedule that provides emergency after-hours support as dictated by business needs.A day in the life of an HVAC Technician may include:

Maintaining operation of HVAC equipment

Monitoring building spaces and controlling temperature, humidity, and building pressure using an energy management computer system

Receiving service calls by telephone, computer, and verbally by supervisor; analyzing problems to determine corrective action needed and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers

Performing corrective and preventative maintenance on a variety of mechanical and building support systems

Transporting tools and materials to various work sites using a company vehicle

Supporting miscellaneous maintenance projects as needed (e.g., roofing projects, gate operators, garage door repairs)

Who You Are

Demonstrated experience working with HVAC systems in a commercial facilities environment

Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required ; this job requires operating Colorado Springs Utilities vehicles

Possession of a Mechanic IV license, or the ability to obtain within six (6) months

Possession of EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification is valued

Experience with DDC building controls is valued
