Animal Care Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated Animal Care Technician to monitor health and provide husbandry for laboratory mouse colony. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small team and contribute to the success of a cutting-edge biotech company.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Ensure excellent animal health and welfare of laboratory mouse colony

Basic husbandry of rodents: animal handling, provide food, water, clean bedding and cages

Maintain accurate records for census reports, breeding schedules, temperature logs

Follow established standard operating procedures and health and safety policies

Stock laboratory supplies and monitor inventory

Sanitize rooms and sterilize equipment

Maintain cleanliness of vivarium and support areas

Weekend/holiday husbandry and health checks required

Requirements

Previous relevant experience and supporting references

Experience handling rodents and recognizing health signs

Conscientious attitude and concern for animals

Clear, effective written and verbal communication skills

Reliable availability for limited weekend/holiday work

AA degree in Animal or Biological Sciences is preferred, but not required

AALAS certification is a plus

Prior experience working in biotechnology company is a plus
