Day Porter/Building Maintenance Technician
California, San diego, 92101 San diego USADuties:
Review work order priorities (assigned by Supervisor) on a daily basis and ensure that they are serviced each day.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs and repairing minor issues with buildings, bathrooms, outdoor areas, parking garage, common areas, light plumbing and electrical.
Make sure the buildings are in safe condition.
Inspect areas for signs of tampering or disrepair and ensure that all repairs are carried out immediately.
Maintain periodic log of general and preventative maintenance activities performed.
Perform minor drywall repairs.
Flooring spot cleaning of spills or stains, mopping floors where needed.
Be able to identify facilities issues and make recommendations for repair.
Keep the buildings and grounds tidy and free from trash, debris.
Empty trash receptacles as needed in all common areas, bathrooms and report any unusual activity/problems.
Touch up paint as needed.
Keep elevator, doors, and any reachable windows clean
Inspect roof, roof drains, solar panels for any damage or debris build-up. Clean roof drains and mop sink drains quarterly.
Keep stairwells and walkways clean and free of trash/debris
Oversee landscape maintenance to ensure crew is carrying out expected duties
Requirements:
Fluent in English
Positive attitude and willingness to provide superior service to tenants, property manager, building owners and vendors
Focus on detail
Punctual, dependable, self-starter, ability to multi-task
Must have reliable transportation
Must have the physical capacity to walk briskly, climb stairs and ladders, conduct visual inspections
Desire to learn about the buildings, grounds and tenant needs
Ability to multi-task and stay on task when unsupervised
Understanding of and experience with basic areas of building maintenance (plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry skills, painting, etc.) and the ability to identify problems and areas of concern and recommend course of action to
May be required to work weekends from time to time to accommodate vendors and jobs that must take place off hours. Pay is time and a half.
Work Environment:
This is a professional medical campus and the ability to interact with medical professionals is just as important as being able to interact with the skilled trades. The campus is open on weekdays but occasional weekend hours may be required depending on the state of the facilities. This is an hourly position, eligible for overtime.
