This is a casual position which is subject to renewal on 06/28/2025.JOB SUMMARY:Independently evaluates the functional ability of patients through the administration, interpretation of standardized tests, clinical observation, and patient/family interview. Creates individualized treatment and educational plans and provides patient/family counseling and training. Develops and implements innovative and specific treatment plans to maximize the patient's functional potential or return to previous level of functioning, based on clinical findings. Consults with medical team and allied health professionals and documents all pertinent clinical findings to render a comprehensive, family-based or individual intervention plan. Proficiency in the care of patients with feeding and/or swallowing impairments is often needed.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master's DegreeBLS for Health Providers (AHA)Occupational TherapistAbility and experience working independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, strategic, results-oriented decisions within the context of patient care and department, division and organizational prioritiesValid California driver's license and auto insurance required, when applicableBachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited program in lieu of Master's degree, if graduated prior to 2004Current California license in OT or eligible if new grad or licensed in another stateNational Board for Certification in Occupational TherapyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Doctorate Degree (non MD)1 Year of ExperiencePediatric ExperienceBilingual English/SpanishSpecialty certification in OT advanced practiceThe expected hiring range for this position is $45.75 to $62.90Rady Children’s Hospital is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
