We are searching for a talented individual with experience in casual farm to dining at our Malibu Pier waterfront location. A minimum of 5 years culinary experience in a leadership or management position. Experience in sourcing local and organic preferred. Ability to work independently and able to handle multiple priorities/projects at the same time. Basic computer skills, word, excel, and outlook.
We are looking for TEAM players, energetic individuals that upload the standard of the restaurant, and people that genuinely want to be successful.
JOB DUTIES:
On the Line:
Ensure all BOH staff is completing their tasks
Filling in for cooks in the event of a call-out
Ability to work on all stations
Must be able to expedite
All recipes should be tasted as they are completed throughout the day
Responsible for teaching and training all staff on new dishes and stations
Maintenance: Ensure the kitchen consistently meets the highest cleanliness standards, in full compliance with Health Department regulations. Quickly identify and address any maintenance issues, and communicate them promptly to upper management.
Admin: Oversee kitchen-related administrative tasks, including scheduling, payroll verification, costing, inventory management, ordering, invoicing, and other relevant duties.
Quality Control: Maintain rigorous quality control standards for both ingredients and finished dishes.
Labor Management: Monitor and control labor costs, ensuring that excessive overtime is avoided unless pre-approved by upper management.
Staff Accountability: Lead progressive counseling for kitchen staff, with approval from the General Manager (GM), and ensure staff accountability.
Scheduling: Create and maintain kitchen schedules that align with the allocated labor budget.
Event Support: Assist with staffing and, if needed, work at buyouts or private events.
Work Culture: Foster a positive workplace environment and maintain high morale among the kitchen staff.
Food Service & Knowledge: Possess a broad understanding of food service operations. Demonstrate the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Health and Safety: Ensure a healthy and safe work environment at all times. Work collaboratively with other departments to contribute to the overall success of the business and guest satisfaction.
