We provide innovative support for current and future products and services, act as global scouts for innovative technologies, and solve our customers' most difficult technology challenges.The Mesa Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T)/ Materials, Process & Technology (MP&T) organization is seeking a Materials and Process Technology Composites Engineering Manager to join our team in Mesa, AZ .The person in this role will add to the growing Materials & Processes Technologies Composites & Non-Metallic materials group and manage Material Engineers performing production support and engineering activities in support of several Boeing platforms and other Mesa site programs throughout the product life cycle.Position Responsibilities:
Manages/lead multiple skills employees performing engineering activities
Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops technical strategies
Staff, direct, and advise individuals to meet program requirements
Provide oversight and leadership to support the development, evaluation, and implementation of new materials and processes into production programs
Manages facilities, services, equipment and tools to meet project and daily operating requirements
Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
Manage overhead & direct budgets
Executes capital projects, from forecasting budget to implementation
Interfacing with BR&T Lab Operations to ensure compliance to both BR&T and local BDS Quality audits related to lab safety and government regulations
Responsible for all test equipment in the lab including development & maintenance of five-year capital plan
Coordinate resources and prioritize SOW to ensure deliverables required by programs are met
Engage and develop team members in technical leadership and professional development
Manages, develops and motivates employees in order to align the skills of the organization with stakeholders’/customers’ current and anticipated needs
Promote collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries to include other MP&P organizations
Strong organizational and communication skills particularly involving complex issues that have broad applicability and impact to the product from material selection, production support, fielding and failure investigation
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Mesa, AZ site.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
10+ years of experience in Aerospace Engineering
3+ years of experience in project management
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience ):
Active U.S. Secret clearance
5+ years of experience with material & process engineering with non-metallic/composites
Experience with non-metallic materials and processes associated with aerospace platforms
Experience with nondestructive testing and engineering
Experience interfacing with internal/external customers
Experience with planning and implementation of material and process characterization and qualifications
Experience working with failure analysis
