Air and Missiles Defense (AMD) XML Technical Publication Writer to join our team to assist in the development and maintenance of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals. The candidate in this role will function within the project office's Logistics Directorate in direct support of the Government Technical Publication Team Lead and will work with both contractors, government civilians and system operators. The candidate must be a self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced working environment. Your day-to-day work will include:- XML usage for creating, developing new and changing existing Army Interactive Electronic Technical Manual.
- Work Directly with the Government Publication Team Lead.
- Attend Validations, Verifications and Logistics Demonstrations to assist with onsite, real time XML changes to the IETMs in the field.
- Assist lead technical writers in maintaining the integrity of the IETM.
- Adhere to stylesheet and DTD rules.
- Assist the lead technical writers in fixing errors within the XML to ensure IETM is error free.
- Assist in implementing information into the Repair Parts and Special Tools List (RPSTL) the IETM.
- The candidate must be a US Citizen and a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area. Candidate must be:
- Proficient in XML and tagging.
- Proficient in XML Editing Software
- Understand the use of user guides, regulations, and style guides.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in XML.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
- Great organizational and time management skills.
- Technical experience in XML, HTML, and other programs.
- Experience in proposals, manuals, technical matrixes, statement of work, contracts, and other technical documentation experience.
- Candidate must be able to acquire or possess (as well as maintain) a US SECRET security clearance.
- Occasional travel is required in support of this position.
